Job: SEN Music and Drama Teacher

About our school:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic experienced Music and Drama Teacher to work within an SEN school for children aged 6 to 19. The young people have a range of learning difficulties from moderate to severe and complex learning needs as well as speech and communication difficulties. The school has committed staff members who are passionate about enhancing the lives of their students through learning. There is a strong emphasis on the importance of communication skills to build independence.
Music is an important part of school life, we are looking for experienced, passionate teachers to join this flourishing environment of incredibly special pupils. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching music to SEN students, and be able to incorporate some drama into the curriculum. There is a school choir, allowing students to develop their vocal skills as well as general performance skills. The choir has regular opportunities to perform to audiences, including at the Christmas and Summer Concerts.
This permanent role is full-time, starting in the spring term of 2021. The rate is negotiable but is based on the teacher’s main pay scale and SEN points depend upon experience and qualifications. QTS is preferable but not essential.
