Yet Another School Stabbing!!!
Less than a month has gone by since the stabbing of Bailey Gwynne at Cults Academy, Aberdeen (website blog 21, 30th September), and YES, there has been yet another incident on school grounds, with two 15-year-old students hospitalised, one of those critically injured, with severe knife wounds.
The attack took place at Kingsdale Foundation School, Dulwich at around 15:30 GMT. Another teenage boy has been arrested in connection with the two brutal assaults.
Reports show that teachers were in a staff meeting with deputy head Andrew Sear at the time of the incident. However witnesses describe the attack as having happened in the atrium, which is inside the schools grounds.

Having seen this report, it is hard not to get emotional and frustrated with it. Trying to contain my swear words through frustration “How the F*%#! does this keep happening?”
The government are doing Zero to try and contain the continuous growing number of stabbings and other attacks on school grounds.
In the words of Bob Dylan… “How many deaths will it take ‘till he knows that too many people have died?” … the Answer my friend is obviously blowin’ in hurricane Barney, because teachers are lost with how to deal with these situations. Why is this? Because the government have not made examples of the previous offenders. Nor have they put a system into place whereby common occurrences like these can be prevented! I could write a whole blog on knife crime, the statistics, and how it has risen, like with gang crime, in the last few years. The fact of the matter is, this shouldn’t be happening in schools.
I mockingly joked, with a tint of seriousness, in blog 21 about having metal detectors on school gates to check all pupils for knives before they enter the school grounds… on a completely serious note, it could be where we are leading towards.
No Pupil should feel threatened or vulnerable in a safe environment for learning!!
What will be done to stop this keep happening?
